Epilogue: (Newly Written)
Well, my granddaughter, Katrina, posted on Facebook, about 1 p.m. yesterday that she was getting married in four hours. That was news to everyone. We certainly didn't know we'd be going to a wedding yesterday.
Since I also had her sister's, Jessica, wedding coming up next month, I rushed out a bought a decent digital camera and managed to get the camera battery charged before the wedding and photographed Katrina and Chuck's wedding for them.
After photographing her wedding, I realized just how much I did miss photographing weddings. It seems to be in my blood and I sure love doing it; so, I decided to try to "unretire" and take on only about a wedding per month in my own Richmond, Indiana, area.
I've had a heart ablation almost three years ago that sure seems to have solved the problem of me having mini-strokes, so I think I'm good to go again from a health standpoint.
I think I will try to keep it cheap for those hiring me; charging no more than about a third of what I charged when I did it for a living. Just pocket money, you might say. And just do basic coverage. No more 20 hours work days photographing weddings far from home!
I really don't even think I'll advertise my services. I'll just try to rely on word of mouth and maybe FaceBook for my bookings.
So, if you know of anyone getting married in my area, anytime in the future, who is looking for a good cheap photographer with a lot of experience, just have them get in touch with me at [email protected]. I'll try to do them a really good job.
